Anti-spam policy

Our rules against fake reviews, review manipulation and spam submissions.

Last updated: October 10, 2026

01Our position

Tap Review exists to make it easy for real customers to share real experiences. Fake reviews, manipulated ratings and spam damage trust for everyone, and they are not allowed on the platform.

02Fake reviews

  • Do not write, generate or submit reviews for a visit that did not happen.
  • Do not submit reviews on behalf of customers, staff, friends or family.
  • Do not use the AI suggestions to produce reviews without genuine customer input.

03Review manipulation

  • Do not offer discounts, gifts or payment in exchange for a positive review.
  • Do not pressure customers to change or remove a review.
  • Do not post or arrange negative reviews about a competitor.
  • Do not scan your own QR code to inflate ratings or scan counts.

04Spam submissions

  • Do not send repeated, automated or bulk submissions through a QR code.
  • Do not use scripts, bots or other tools to interact with the review flow.
  • Do not submit abusive, irrelevant or promotional content as feedback.

05How rating thresholds work

A business can set a rating threshold so that lower ratings go to a private feedback form. This helps the business hear about a problem and put it right. Customers remain free to post a public review on Google at any time, and a business must not tell them otherwise.

06What we do about it

  • We monitor scans and submissions for unusual patterns.
  • We may remove spam submissions from a business dashboard.
  • We may limit, suspend or close accounts that break this policy.

07Reporting abuse

If you believe a business is misusing Tap Review, tell us. Include the business name and what you saw, and we will look into it.
